Hakkasan celebrates the ancient Chinese culinary ritual of dim sum with Dim Sum Sundays. Dim sum means ‘touching the heart’ in Cantonese, and the tradition, also known as yum cha, has developed over hundreds of years. It has its roots in the providing of sustenance and the facilitating of rest and conversation.
Priced at £62 per person, the menu celebrates seasonal ingredients in both the food and the cocktails on offer. Dim Sum Sundays is a weekly event available every Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday from 12 midday to the later time of 6:30pm.
Dim sum is synonymous with tea – in China, locals often greet each other with the expression “Ngoh de heui mh heui yum cha?” which translates as “Shall we go and have tea?” In Hakkasan, a wide range of Chinese teas can be paired with dim sum. The menu includes a cocktail from Hakkasan’s award-winning list to start, followed by a half bottle of Louis Roederer Brut Premier Champagne or half a bottle of exclusive Cristal Louis Roederer 2018, and concludes with a digestif cocktail to enjoy with dessert.
Dim Sum Sundays engages with the unique elements of our personality. Calmness, tranquillity and humility are translated into a simple, elegant, vibrant experience that is true to our Chinese roots.
Resident DJ, Pathaan, will playing from 1pm until 5pm every Sunday. On the last Sunday of every month, Hakkasan will host a live music performance accompanying the DJ.
